ART 190B: Introduction to Adobe Photoshop®

Description

This course is an introduction to Adobe Photoshop®. It is oriented to students who have not been exposed to the formal study of this software program. Students will learn the basic Adobe Photoshop® work area and tools, including such concepts as selecting, layers, filters, painting, retouching, and creating special effects. Students will work on various projects and digital images.

  1. Use the basic interface elements of Photoshop such as tools, palettes, menus, and option bars.
  2. Use, make, and manipulate selections, layers, layer adjustments, gradients, paths, and channels.
  3. Use text tools, retouch tools, and basic special effects.
  4. Open, save, and export files in appropriate formats.
