According to UH Policy (BOR 7.207 and EP 7.301), all international students must demonstrate proof of enrollment in a health insurance program that meets the University of Hawai‘i System minimum requirements before enrolling and throughout their programs of study. The intent of this requirement is to protect international students against the high cost of unanticipated health care expenses resulting from accidents or illness.
