Description
This introductory course covers the causes of, and effects from, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides, rockfalls, and other natural phenomena.
Prerequisites
Qualified for ENG 100.

- Explain the cause of natural hazards such as earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, storms, waves, and meteor impacts.
- Identify dangerous places where natural hazards have often occurred.
- Identify and explain the methods used to observe and monitor potential natural hazards, including tools, technologies, and data sources.
- Describe why it is challenging to accurately predict natural hazards.
- Describe how you and your community can prepare for natural hazards.
