Description
This is a combined lecture/lab course providing extensive practice in preparing and presenting effective public speeches with special emphasis on organization, outlining, audience analysis, analytical reasoning, and delivery skills.
Prerequisites
Qualified for ENG 100 or “C” or higher in SP 151.

- Demonstrate speech competence by delivering three additional speeches.
- Outline and orally present an informative speech which reflects knowledge of audience analysis, research, supporting material, and organization.
- Outline and orally present a persuasive speech which reflects knowledge of audience analysis, research, supporting material, analysis of arguments, and organization of persuasive ideas.
- Write or orally deliver clear, meaningful speaker evaluations.
- Demonstrate a foundation of the basic terminology, concepts, and theories in public speaking.
- Demonstrate self-confidence, vocal variety, effective nonverbal mannerisms, and use Standard American English in performance delivery skills.
